Event overview
WHAT IS SASKATOON FRANCHISE EXPO 2027?
A two-day franchise and business-opportunity expo. Exhibitors present franchise concepts, and attendees can meet franchisor representatives face to face, compare concepts side by side and ask the first-round questions — fees, territory, support and startup costs — that a franchise purchase decision depends on.

CONSIDERING YOUR FIRST FRANCHISE?
A franchise purchase is a business acquisition with a defined playbook: an upfront franchise fee, build-out costs such as leasehold improvements and equipment, opening inventory, and working capital to carry the business until revenue matures. Before signing anything, review the franchisor's disclosure document carefully, talk to existing franchisees of the same system, and build a total project cost — not just the headline fee. Franchise financing may be able to structure several of those pieces together, subject to the lender program, the franchise system, the applicant and the transaction.
- Franchise fee, royalties and the real total project cost
- Leasehold improvements, equipment and opening inventory
- Working capital for the ramp-up until break-even
- Due diligence: disclosure document, franchisee references, territory

ALREADY RUNNING A BUSINESS?
The expo is also a working tool for established owners. A second location, a new concept alongside an existing one, or a multi-unit expansion all start with the same homework: unit economics, territory protection and the capital plan for build-out and ramp-up. Financing an expansion unit is reviewed differently from financing a brand-new venture — an operating history changes the conversation, subject to eligibility.
- Second locations and multi-unit expansion
- New concepts alongside an existing business
- Expansion capital reviewed on the merits of the operating business
